My optical drive is acting like a 400 pound couch potato trying to run a 100 yd dash. It sounds like it's going to break, only receives a disk one out of every four attempts and is just super super sluggish. It sounds like it is barely working and going to stop in the middle. Kind of like something that is running out of battery power. So I bought a new optical drive, thinking that was the issue. I installed it, sure enough, the new drive does the exact same thing. Any ideas on what my diagnosis should be. At this point it's almost non-usable. Also, no I don't have apple care. It is a 2008 macbook 13.3 intel core 2 duo.

Thanks!!!
