It feels like I've been waiting for this event forever haha

Can anyone explain the chip processors on a use-case basis? (I was not planning to touch this option, but now that there's like 4 options I'm wondering if it's worth cashing in on a higher core)

I've had my MacBook air for over 8 years and I plan to hold on to this Pro for just as long if possible. With that in mind, I'm fairly a casual user (Emails, word/excel, documents, youtube, web browsing etc.) but I have also gotten into video and photo editing as a hobby and have been enjoying it (I do also plan to invest in final cut pro).

My current air has 256GB (Definitely not enough anymore) with 8GB ram (Seems fine, except when running imove/photoshop).

With that in mind, I'm wondering if the 16GB and 512 GB would be enough for me?
I'm tempted to bump both to 32GB and 1TB, but unsure. Especially with the SSD, as everyone says the base is fine and that I should just invest an external drive (but it's nice and convenient to not have to always bring it with you).

Any advice is appreciated!

Not sure if this will be the overall sentiment, but honestly for your use case I’d say the M1 Air with 16GB and whatever SSD you decide you want.

I have honestly been considering that option for a while as well, but I do really like the new design for the new Pros (mostly to avoid dongle life) and get a slightly larger screen.
I appreciate the reply though!
