I have a new iMac that I'd like to use to share files to my Windows XP laptop.

I've managed to get a folder shared, my XP laptop can open any file in the shared folder or any subfolder.

However, I am having trouble with permissions. I can create a file from windows to the mac, but I cannot create a file in any subfolder. More importantly, I cannot overwrite files created either way - if I create a file on the Mac, I can open it on windows but cannot save over it. If I create a file through windows, I can open it on the mac but cannot save over it.

I played with the terminal and some test files. I figured out that chmod 757 would allow me access, but I can't imagine thats the proper method.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
