Although designed for the new 2012 Macbook Pro (non-retina display model), might this ram work in the late 2011 Macbook Pro? It appears to be CL9 ram, and also low voltage (that's what the "L" designation stands for, according to this page on wikipedia).
 
yes it works

Macbook pro 2011 Supports 1600 Mhz 8GB x 2 = 16GB DDR3 Ram.at 1.5v

Memory have SPD serial presence detect,

Bios will set its Voltage 1.5V even if its 1.35 Low Voltage ram these can work at both Voltage 1.35v or 1.5v they are back ward compatible,

but no advantage to you you pay more for these ... :eek:
