OWC Mercury Extreme low read, write speeds

I just purchased the OWC Mercury Extreme 6g for my 2010 MacBook Pro. It made a huge speed difference but when I ran disk speed test its only registering around 250.

Is this because i'm on a 2010 MBP? I that the OWC Mercury Extreme was one of the best.

Yes, your system is limited to SATA 3 Gb/s speeds (~250 or so MB/s) so the results you're seeing are normal.
