Hi,

i have a OWC mercury xtreme pro 3G 60GB SSD that has been pre-installed with 10.6. It cannot get past the grey apple screen. Does anyone know what to do?

I never trusted "preinstalled" drives. Can you do a fresh install? I don't know all the ins and outs of OS X but it seems like you'd need to perform an installation around the system's hardware.

By preinstalling i mean that i installed 10.6 onto the drive with my MacPro. I did this because when trying to install it using my MacBook pro, the restart after the installation would hang in the grey apple screen indefinitely.

After i successfully installed 10.6 onto the drive in the MacPro, i put it back in my MBP and tried to boot with it and i encountered the same hangup in the grey apple screen.

I don't know what to do. I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now with no luck.

Surely, someone here can provide me with a solution.
