Hello,

I have the base 2011 13" MBA and I am interested in upgrading the SSD to a larger capacity. I am wondering if anyone has the SSD from OWC? Is it faster than the original SSD that is in the MBA?

Also, would it be possible to install Snow Leopard on the new SSD?

Thanks

As you can see in my sig, I was crazy enough to make my ultimate 13" MBA really ULTIMATE :D

You won't feel a performance difference. If you are going for a Mercury Aura, it's just for capacity. Good news is that it is as fast as the Apple/Samsung one for sure and it is working without any flaws!

That's a pretty penny me thinks ;)

Snow Leopard won't run natively on the 2011 MacBook Airs. The closest to a native solution is to run Snow Leopard Server within a Parallels or VMWare Fusion virtual machine. Snow Leopard Server retailed for $500 (unlimited client licenses), but I've seen it on eBay in the $200 range. I can confirm it works.
