Those are some insane prices for Thunderbolt 3 docks, even with the sales. Not sure what makes them think those are well priced, especially since Thunderbolt 4 is vastly superior.

I find it odd they are still selling it for that high regularly. I got this exact dock march last year for $99 new from them. I wouldn't pay the $180 they want for it now. it's nice but not that nice.

I have to say that every time I see this pushed by macrumors my faith in their objectivity is knocked down a notch, not to mention that I have ZERO faith in OWC anymore to provide value at the price.

This is a VERY old product. OWC must have massively overestimated demand for this... 10 years ago when it was still a little valid. NOTHING uses mini DisplayPort, and the serious lack of any other monitor connectivity means that this really doesn't have any value over a $50 USB-C dock.

This is a crap product. I have one and it has no many disconnects and issues it has been in a drawer and forgotten about until I read this. I can't even sell it.

If you buy this product, you need your head examined. Absolute dumpster fire. I had one and it constantly disconnected...bought their smaller hub and that disconnected as well...I got so frustrated I threw both right in the god damn garbage. I'll never buy another OWC product as long as I'm on this earth. Macrumors should be ashamed of themselves for trying to advertising this product for them....oh and it's ANYTHING but popular. What a complete joke.

100% same experience as the above users, absolute garbage dock.

I’m sure this is sponsored content so if OWC is reading this, please make a better dock.

So strange that they haven’t jumped into the Mac Mini and Mac Studio internal ssd upgrade bandwagon.

You obviously got a dud. I'm on my 2nd. I spilt alcohol all over my first one. No issues with either. Very solid. Got my 2nd one brand new on Ebay for $50. Winning.

You obviously don’t know about their RTL8153 chipset problem. Probably neither did the person you’re replying to, because it was a simple fix (if disappointing from a customer service standpoint) by purchasing an extra Ethernet dongle.

I find my TB4 dock quite useful, but from day-one it never did what it says on the tin.

And OWC did feck-all to resolve or reimburse that issue, which is exceedingly crappy of them.

If you need a mod to make a dock work, then he dock doesn't work. Glad you found a solution but it was not worth my time. By the time I built my Mac Studio and three monitor setup and flipped all to USB C, I had no need at all for the dock. But it was ultimately the dock not working that made me fed up enough to build a new system.
