I am thinking about buying this adapter for my macbook so i can connect my macbook to a TV. I know that if you connect a minidisplay port to a TV it doesn't transfer the computers sound to the TV speakers. Would this display connection through the USB port transfer sound to a TV.

This is really what I'm looking for in a connector because it would be nice to not have to set up the sound separate from the video. Any insight or advice is appreciated. Thanks

Just like the Mini DisplayPort, the OWC USB to DVI/HDMI/VGA to Video Display Adapter just sends the video signal to an additional monitor.

You could always try something like this Mini DisplayPort/Optical Audio Out to HDMI adapter:

Edit: The device you listed is USB to DVI, then uses a DVI to HDMI adapter. Considering DVI does not carry audio at all, it will not work as you intend. You would need to introduce the audio at the point of conversion from DVI to HDMI.
