Please no-one start a CPU speed means nothing thread...I know! But has anyone in the UK seen the PC World ad for a new laptop...

4GHz Pentium 4
32MB Graphics RAM
15" Screen

£999

The powerbook equilavent to that is £900 MORE and 867MHz.

Yes I love titanium and yes I love Apple, but for £900 I could almost buy another PC laptop. Cmon Apple, its not funny anymore :(

I think he's talking about this ad from pcworld. The 4GHz is a typo; supposed to be 2.4GHz.

I'd still take a tibook any day of the week though. You pay for superior quality, and it's worth it in my view.

Could you please post the specs on HxWxL and Weight. thanks, thats what i thought.

Weight: 3.12 kg
Length: 327 mm
Width: 267 mm
Height: 39 mm

Basically, it's a lot bigger than the powerbook G4.

For the non-metric type...

3.12 kg = 6.86 lbs
3.9 cm = 1.5 in.
32.7 cm = 12.9 in.
26.7 cm = 10.5 in.

And yeah, you should get another laptop with the price difference because with the battery rated up to 2.5 hours (not to mention the time lost to windows rebooting), you'll want another one. :D

By the way, why do people always do this? If you want the absolute cheapest computer, go get a Dell or whatever. No one complains to BMW that their car is not as affordable as Hyundai.

lol, i know, the whole thanks thats what i thought was me being sarcastic, i knew this thing would be a beast. we dont care about those computers, its like looking for someone to date and you take a look at all the skinny fine girls and the fat girls, we dont want the fat girls, unless you like fat girls, which some do.

Yeah sorry it was 2.4GHz, damn my poor typing skills.

All the arguments everyone has said I agree with! I'm just saying that its not just a few hundred, its £900.

IMO £900 doesn't justify the benefits.

I'll still go and buy a 12" Powerbook :p...where's my credit card.
