Owners of 2016/2017 MBP, have you had problems with the Touchbar?

A few day after the 1 year warranty ran out, the touchbar on my 2017 13" MBP went completely black (except for a split-of-a-second white splash upon pressing the power button). Tried everything, went to the AASP eventually. They replaced the whole top case for like $400.

Today I receive the computer back with the fear that it will happen again sometimes in the future.

So everyone, is this a common problem or I'm just unlucky with a faulty touchbar? Is there any of you guys who had similar problem to mine?

No issue to mention on my 2017. And FWIW I havent heard of any other reports of that happening. I'm sorry it happened to you though.

None for me on my pre-order 2016 15". Haven't seen any reports of similar either.

Did you purchase on a CC you may have a 1 year warranty extension on your MBP. Could help if it strikes again.

No issues on my 2017 MBP either. I have actually not heard of the Touchbar going out at all before.
