My powerbook G4-667 running 10.3.9 won't seem to mount an external drive via firewire, that normally works fine with my intel mac mini and lenovo T61.

It is a top-end enclosure with a two-partition hdd inside, FAT/OSX journaled. Typically on my Mini, when I plug the drive in, it mounts both partitions separately, nicely on the desktop.

On the powerbook, I can see in the system profiler (under "firewire") that the computer knows the device is attached. So the cable/port isn't bad - but the drive is not mounting either partition to my desktop. I can't find it in finder/network/etc either.

Anyone know what I can do here? Thanks,

bump - problem not solved.
However, the disk mounts when using USB cables instead of firewire cables. What's the deal? Thanks
