iPhone P0rn on my iPhone ... its not what u think

so i have jailbroken my iPhone 5 a while ago and nowadays i get lots of porn ads that pop up instead of the actual page. this happens especially often when i open a link from twitter which uses the link shortner service such as "t.co ..."

the same does not happen on my iPad which is also jailbroken however.

should i be worried about my iPhone being hijacked or something. its very annoying trying to read something on zap2it for example and it redirects to a porn ad if i do not click the "x" on the loading page immediately.

i already got adblocker on cydia and now it shows "blocked" most of the times (probably the porn ad) when i refresh it a few times i get to the actual page.

thoughts? i already cleaned the cache

Why would you give that advice? If you don't know what you are saying, don't say anything!

OP, do NOT erase all content & settings, you will lose your jailbreak and won't be able to JB again.

Just to chime in here, why can't you jailbreak again? Would the phone be "bricked"?

You'll end up in a boot loop and the only way out of it will be to restore. Restoring will put you on 6.1.3 which you cannot jailbreak.

Yeah that was terrible advice....erase all will not allow the device to be booted up again, and so you will be in big trouble.

I recommend you start uninstalling tweaks, until you find out the cause of this problem. If all tweaks are gone, try icleaner and clean out your caches and unused dependencies....otherwise I dont know....I remember there was a thread on here a long time ago about the same thing, guy would always get redirected to porn sites, don't know if he solved it tho.
 
Surprised no one has mentioned pirate cydia sources.

If you have any pirate sources try viewing a package from the repo and then clicking "screenshots" or "changelong" the page it takes you to will probably be a porn ad and viola, there's where it's cummin from..pun intended.

I actually have a similar problem but instead of taking me to a porn site I occasionally get taken to yahoo.com.

This happens about once a day (twice at the most) and I am not willing to loose my jailbreak over this annoyance that happens once a day so I am going to just put up with it.

If this is spyware though it is weird that I would be taken to Yahoo.com's search page.
 
btw, to avoid any kinds of ads anywhere on your device, check out this site. it's an edited host file that blocks ads more efficiently than adblocker and above all at (I think) no cost to your device's speed. might not matter on an iphone 5, but on my 4 it does make a huge difference. there are two ways to install it, via cydia and an sbsettings toggle and whatnot, and you can alternatively replace the host file on your device manually, which is what I've done as I don't want sbsettings+activator etc on my phone, again, having a bad influence on your device's speed.

it'll block ads across all apps on your device, pretty awesome IMO.
 
Stop using pirated Cydia tweaks.

Step 1:
Delete pirated cydia tweakjs

Step 2:
Buy the cydia tweaks you pirated if you think they are worth money. If else, go without them.

Step 3:
Smile and think about that you actually are helping Jailbreak in general.

So did you try the erase all content & settings and rejailbreak you suggested?

wait. If you don't wanna lose your jailbreak why did you give that advise at the beginning to someone in a similar situation? :confused:

That's how to get rid of your jailbreak and tweaks. I don't want to go through the trouble of having to reinstall my tweaks
