Good Morning
I have a mid 2011 iMac 27” which was originally the i5 processor I have just put in the i7 2600, and 32gb ram, I have a 1tb ssd PCIe P3 M.2 stick, when I connect it via USB to format it tells me that it’s drawing too much power from the USB port and to disconnect, if I place it in a caddy and replace the old ssd and format it that way , but I don’t want to fry the power supply if it was pulling to much from the USB? Would it be ok to fit, or should I buy a ssd hd instead.

2011 iMac is USB 2.0. Get a powered USB 2.0 hub and cripple your 1TB SSD P3 M.2 stick by attaching it to hub instead.
