A poll of the blues on the most recent two Pro Models.

Now that Sierra Blue has been out for some time on the 13 Pro, to compare with last years Pacific Blue on the 12 Pro, which blue do you ultimately prefer on an iPhone?

11 Pro Max was Space Grey

13 Pro Max was Sierra Blue but had to settle for Graphite as it was the only color on hand

Interesting!

I also had a Space Grey 11 Pro before eventually getting the Sierra Blue 13 Pro - would’ve really considered the Graphite 13 Pro if it didn’t look so much the exact same as the Space Grey 11 Pro

When I look at them in promo photos like the one you provided, I like the Pacific blue. And to be fair I did not make an effort last year to go look at the Pacific blue in person. But I was considering purchasing the 13 pro, and I was worried (extremely first-world worry) that the Sierra Blue was more like light silver-gray. But in person I found it very pleasant and definitely (if lightly) blue. Still, I liked the Pacific blue better.

I ended up not getting the pro anyway, and getting the mini instead in blue, which I like better anyway! And that's yet a different blue than the 12 mini: lighter, a little more saturated, and I like it better. So I lucked out (not that the color would have made me decide to buy or not buy): the 13 is my favorite of all the blues.

But to your original question, I like the Pacific Blue better.

The colors really matter little to me as I keep it in a Liquid Air case. I used to sport a iPhone 8 Plus Rose Gold, iPhone 6s Silver

That's fair and that always comes up when discussion of colors is involved. But compared to just a couple of years ago, more of the body color is visible these days due tot he size of the camera platform.

Good point.

On my iPhone 5s I used to use Magpul-branded cases. When I use the iPhone's flash for flash photography it causes a color cast that throws the color temp really off. The color of the case changes the color of the flash.

I preferred high visibility colors so I could easily spot the iPhone in my car's black carpet & in a low light environment.

A fear with Sierra Blue is that color of the iPhone may throw off the color temp/tint of the photo when using flash photography.

Another reason I chose a color closest to black is how much easier it is to sell used.

What I'd never buy again are Speck cases. They're too biogegradable in less than 2 years.

I like the stainless steel band of the sierra blue phone, but I’m disappointed with how gray the phone back is, it looks much bluer on Apple’s website. I would have gone with silver again if I knew what sierra blue looked like in real life before preordering.

I remember the flash coloring issue. The way I’d heard to deal with it is to take black magic marker to that inside rim of the case.

I prefer darker blues to lighter shades for the most part, but I wasn't ready to buy a 12 Pro; it didn't have the camera configuration I wanted. So even if I had known at the time what the 13 Pro colors were going to be it wouldn't have changed my decision to wait and see what cameras the 13-series would offer.

In the end I went for Sierra Blue on a "what the heck" basis, and got a clear case to show it off. Typically I would have gone for whatever the dark gray/black option would have been and then put the thing in a dark-shaded leather case. I wasn't enthusiastic about this year's leather case colors and thought, "You going to do the same, boring thing again," so here I am!

I prefer Sierra Blue over Pacific Blue for the Pro/Pro Max models, but if it were the regular/mini models, I'd prefer the blue on the 12 series over the blue on the 13 series.

When I had Magpul's iPhone 5s cases RMA'd their next revision had the camera hole with a dark/black lining.

I have both, I think I like the Pacific Blue more, although I don’t care much at this point. I wish they had introduced another colour with the 13P different to the blue.

I have the Pacific Blue 12 Pro Max and I still love the color, the same as launch day. I’m using a glass screen protector, glass back protector and a clear bumper, so the color of my phone is always seen.

Lots of threads on this. I prefer the darker Pacific Blue, but Sierra Blue over the other 13 Pro colors. Sierra Blue is definitely shinier flashy than PB.
