iOS Package Files

Hi
I am a fresher in iphone development. I created an application using Mac Xcode for iphone. It is working in simulator correctly. I build the app normaly. How we can convert into a Package file for the device. Is it a single file ?? What is the extension of the installation file?? Is it .deb or .ipa or .plx??? Then where the files resides after building??
Pls help me...

The Program Portal has detailed instructions on how to install your app on a device. Pay particular attention to the "Building and Installing your Development Application" section of the Provisioning > How To tab.
