Page 2 is misused.
It's described "Uncertain news and links". So why are (admittedly boring) true stories put there, such as the J2SE update?
I feel it would make more sense to either clarify Page 2's actual raison d'être - as a place for less interesting pieces of news and nonsensical rumours - or to simply make all news and rumours go onto the front page, with a comment from the poster mentioning the reliability of a source, and a tag to identify something as news, logical rumour, scurrilous rumour, nonsense, etc.
I don't feel the compartmentalisation in its current form gains anything.
