page in/out and inactive memory

can someone explain this to me.. the title says what i want explained. i want to make my mbook run faster. from time to time i get a beachball when doing things and it bothers me. would paging and inactive ram have an affect on system speed?

When the page outs come close to being equal to the page ins, you need more RAM. Yours are fine.
