I'm trying to finish a document on deadline (now an hour past) and have spent the last hour trying to figure out why my page numbers aren't showing up -- and I have no idea why.

At some point this document had page numbers. It has been sent back and forth between two computers -- one is an XP machine running Word 2004, the other my mac running Word 2008 -- I'm just trying to put the finishing touches on the formatting. But no matter what I do, I can't get page numbers to show up. I try inserting them. I try using the footer section under Document Elements. It says I can undo it, but they're not there.

Do you know why? I will say that the document has several sections, but no matter where I start in the document I can't seem to add them.
