Pages and Command+B

When I try to use Command+B/I/U in Pages, I just get the little error sound. I have to type something, delete it, and then use the shortcut, or I have to select it from the menu. This is driving me insane. What is up with this? Also, when you have a bulleted list, double tapping Enter is supposed to end the list. Randomly, this stopped working. Why is Pages so inconsistent? Thanks.

Could something else on your system have commandeered the keyboard shortcuts? Do the keyboard shortcuts work in any other Apple apps? Have you checked the keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences to see if they are set to something else?
