Pages and hyphenation

Is is possible to insert some kind of hyphenation hint for a word in Pages, so that if the word is split because of a line break, it's splits at the correct place, but if it's not on a line break, I don't get a hyphen?

There's an option "for Prevent Widow and Orphan lines" - is that what you're looking for ? There are some other paragraph and hyphenation options in the "More" pane of the Inspector of Pages.
