Mac newbie help !

Pages just crashed and lost my document - where do I find it - three hours of work own the tubes - aagghh.

omg, did I need to set an autosave thingy like in windoz !? any advice appreciated as urgent. thx in advance . . . .Stuart

Pages does not have an Autosave feature*

You are out of luck unfortunately.

There are 3rd party scripts that work like autosave but that doesn't help you now.

TextEdit does have autosave but that doesn't help you now.

*Biggest lacking feature there is and there is absolutely no excuse for apple not to have this feature. I was shocked when Pages 09 did not bring it in.

you mean there is no temporary file secreted away somewhere !!!

Sadly, not much can be done at this stage.
Notes for future use.
Pages Preferences > Saving: > Back up previous version when saving.
Pages has an undo option till saved which to my mind is a good idea.

'Command s' every so often while working if you don't want the undo option.
Time Machine?

Thank you for the advice - downloaded EverSave. However, the question to Apple must be - why isn't this feature included with iWork or otherwise? I'll send the feedback.

I had used to have MS Office set at 3 min backup, due to constant crashing, but this was my first Pages crash - it was costly as I lost three or four hours work. I just assumed it would be there, somewhere in the background.

EverSave will now be switched on permanently - Apple's reputation now has a little dent in it.
