Pages Crashes when opening Word Documents (after upgrade to Snow Leopard)

I recently upgraded my iMac to Snow Leopard. It runs Pages 2.02 (the 2006 version). Now whenever I attempt to open a word document Pages crashes, telling me "Pages quit unexpectedly while using the SLCompability plugin. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any ideas on how to remedy this?

You'll likely have to purchase iWork '08 or iWork '09 to be compatible as '06 is not supported and there is no other solution. You can purchase the '09 versions of Pages, Numbers, or Keynote separately on the Mac App Store which is available in 10.6.6 and later.
