Pages for iPad - shapes connector not snapping to connect

I have found this support article showing that apple has support for snapping connectors in pages on the iPad. However when simply create a 2 boxes like it says and add a connector to the page and grad the connector near to or onto the boxes it fails to snap to the boxes at any point. It just drops exactly where you leave the connector, and also doesn't stay connected as you move the box around.

Can someone else try and see if you get the same thing? Not sure if I am missing something or if its a bug.
