for my research paper, each page must be numbered and the page number must appear 1-inch from the top and right margins. the proceeding text then begins 1 double space below each page number, or the 1.38-inch top margin. this was easy to format.
however, for ONLY the first page of each chapter, they must NOT have a page number and the text must be at the 1-inch top margin. removing page numbers for the first page of each chapter was solved by adding section breaks.
the problem i'm having is editing the top margin of only the first page of each chapter (section break) to begin at the 1-inch top margin, rather than the 1.38-inch margin. i've tried to select "1st page is different" in Layout inspector, then try to change just the margin of one page a chapter begins on, but it changes the margins of the entire paper. frustrating, eh?
if anyone knows how to solve this, your feedback would be most appreciated.
