Pages Text Boxes

I am having trouble putting two test boxes in Pages '09 right next to each other. When I try, 1 line of text is hidden from the text box on the top and I am left with a large gap between the two pieces of text.

If there is no solution to this problem, 1 way I could get around it is if I could know how to make text, in a text box, wrap around an image. Every time I try, it never works and just places the text directly on top of the image.

Any ideas?
