I opened Pages earlier and it said there was an update. I didn't have time then so I dismissed and told it not to remind me about that update again. Now Software Update isn't showing anything for it or iWork and I can't see anything on Apple's Downloads page. How are apps "registered" with Software Update (so it knows to look for updates for them) because I remember having a similar problem before?

My Pages version is 4.0 (727). Is there actually a later version?

When I try to install that I get "An eligible Keynote application was not found in the location /Applications/iWork '09." I deleted Keynote and Numbers after I initially installed iwork. Do I seriously have to have them all in order to just update one?

iWork'09 is one folder in Applications containing Numbers, Keynote and Pages. Any other arrangement will Not be found or updated.

So yes, you need all three in the iWork'09 folder in Applications.
