Has anybody else encountered Painter 7 install issues? I did a clean install of Panther, and I've run into a few issues with bad installs - Vue D'Esprit, weirdness in Amapi 7 - but generally there's been something in the appropriate support forum indicating they're aware of the problem and working on a fix.
Painter 7 bombs out during install for me with an error about insufficient privileges to create a folder. Unfortunately, Corel's approach to support is...well, umm, less than wonderful, and it looks like the only way to open a ticket with them is to *pay* to report the problem.
The only other major issue I've encountered is the drivers for my Sandisk SmartMedia reader no longer work, but to be quite honest the non-functionality of a $15 piece of hardware isn't a killer for me, and if I ever get my $20 Apple Store coupon for renewing .Mac, I'll probably put it towards something like a LaCie 6-in-1 reader.
As for Panther as a whole - the jury's still out on it. My wife's in local government so I got it for a good price, but so far it feels like most of the improvements are just bells and whistles. Either that or the improvements are just aimed at a different kind of user this time - there's nothing like the "whole new Mac" feeling I got with Jaguar.
