pair magic kb/tp to external bluetooth dongle?

is it possible to pair those external accessories to a usb BT adapter? I'm using a LG 5k display so my MacBook is sitting a little bit far away, so I'm thinking maybe put a usb BT dongle on the back of 5k display and connect my keyboard/touchpad to it may improve the connection? plus I get to connect more BT devices at the same time (such as keyboard + trackpad + mouse + headphone)
