Pairing Apple Watch Series 2

I will get my Series 2 42mm SS Apple Watch on Wednesday, but I would like to keep my Series 1 AW also. Can I pair the Series 2 watch without unpairing the Series 1 watch first? Would there be any complications if I had both watches paired to my iPhone?

Thanks. Will the settings for the second watch be the same as those for the first, or will I need to start over again and program settings for the second watch?

good question, I dont know this part ... I just got my 1st AWS 2 SS yesterday =)

I used the "pair new watch" option in the iphone watch app then chose to restore from the backup of my existing watch. They are now both paired (and seen as seperate devices by the phone) and the phone automatically switches to whichever one I put on my wrist.
