I have the HP 460cb mobile printer and a MBP.

It's simple, I want to print wirelessly via bluetooth, no USB dongles!

I have the HP Bluetooth card inserted into the printer so there's no problem with that. Everything was setup smoothly but for some reason, the two won't connect.

The devices were recognized and setup, then I went to pair them and they wouldn't connect. Suddenly they did connect for about 30 seconds (I could see the Bluetooth sign with the three dots in the middle, indicating that a device was paired; and yes I made sure all other Bluetooth devices were disconnected to avoid any confusion)

I just want to know how to print via Bluetooth, it can't be that hard!

Thanks for any advice!

I don't have and haven't seen that printer....
The way bluetooth works for printers that have built-in BT, is usually something like Print & Fax > +(add), select Advanced, then select something proprietary like "HP Bluetooth."
In other words, you can't just select the printer if it shows up in the default printer browser pane.
How to get Advanced choices after clicking +:
1. While pressing the CTRL key, click the toolbar.
2. Select Customize Toolbar...
3. Drag and drop the Advanced icon to the toolbar.
4. Click Done.

Thanks, I managed to get it to work!

For my edification - was it "HP Bluetooth?"

Unfortunately it wasn't "HP Bluetooth".

I followed all the steps you wrote.

System Preferences -> Print & Fax -> the "+" (plus) sign to add a printer -> customize toolbar so I can add the 'Advanced' button

Then I searched for available printers, and selected "Deskjet 460"

I might of caught a lucky break and configured this by accident somehow, but following your steps helped a lot! Thanks!
