Hi there!
I have to integrate mac environment with Active Directory. Home folders will be kept locally but the problem is that when machine user logs in to the domain for the first time os creates new home folder for him.
What I'm looking for is an easy and safe way (although more risky ones welcome as well) to bind new user account with an old local home folder (both in Tiger and Leopard) without digging through all the files and copying them to the new location.
Solution should set proper permissions, keychains, etc. I read about Advanced Options in Accounts preference pane, where in theory I should be able to choose home folder manually but:
1. The right-click on each user in Accounts doesn't work for me neither as an admin nor the root, nothing happens. Advanced Options, where are you?
2. I'm not quite sure what such change really does.
P.S. Deleting new home folder and renaming the old one is not an option.
Thanks for help!
