I didn't see this posted anywhere and thought it was one of those moments where someone will feel like digging a hole and hiding.

Best Buy is now selling the Palm Pre for $99 with a 2 year contract, $100 less than the previous price. As usual, purchasing a phone at Best Buy also means that you don't need to futz around with a mail-in rebate, all rebates are instant.

I saw a news story on this earlier, but it also mentioned refurbed iphone prise drop too.

I spoke with 2 guys who purchased it @ Best Buy and they told me they had sold 50 phones before figuring out it was a mistake.
The Manager was pretty upset and tried to stop the sales and one of the guys pulled the Sales Tag and showed him the $99 price tag sign. I guess it was one of the moments where "if looks could kill".

So they sold out of all the phones, took down the Add and replaced it with the original one showing the price @ $199.

So a few people managed to get a deal on the phone.

I can only imagine someone is in big trouble.

You couldn't pay me to use a Palm Pre. Cheap, flimsy piece of ****. My niece has a little plastic phone with candy in it that is sturdier than that junk. No, really. I'm being serious.

I saw the pre yesterday at bb for the first time. That keyboard is ridiculous! Buttons are way to tiny and not raised up enough.
