Palm rest cover for Air M1 / Space gray

Hello, since i've got a space gray color, it has fading color issues, thus i decided to use a palm rest cover, but apple states to not use it: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203671

where's the truth? I've used one palm rest cover on a previous MBP 15" 2019 and it worked fine. Is there any drawbacks using this on air?

I’d take Apple’s advice - why risk it .
