Looks like Panasonic are about to launch their new range of camcorders. Im looking to upgrade from my Panasonic SD9 that I bought in 2009, and it looks like the current HC-V720 is the right one for me.

But Ive read conflicting reports of its AVCHD files not being compatible with iMovie. I like to import my footage to iMovie, edit it, then export the result to my 2012 MacBook Pro. Anyone know if I will be able to do this? Heres a review from a UK sellers website...

If you are using iMovie 11, then you probably won't be able to import any AVCHD video direct. Use something like Clipwrap to change the movie container from AVCHD to .mov. It doesn't convert your footage, so there's no loss of quality.
