Panasonic plasma and unibody Macbook

Hi,

I bought this Displayport to HDMI from monoprice.com

Hooked it up to my Panasonic plasma TH-50PX75U but I get no image. When I turn the TV off and on the Macbook's screen refreshes (gets black and then comes back). I went to settings -> display -> detect displays and nothing shows up.

Anyone have this problem and find a way to fix it?
