Page 45 Of Your Manual Shows How To Hook It Up

On Page 45 of your manual it explains how to hook it up. Do you have a FW Cable? It didn't come with one. Your FW Port is inside the LCD Screen bay. You need a 4 pin to 6 pin FireWire cable. Do you have one?

Does this mean I cannot use the USB cable that comes with my camera?

Also, I'm having trouble figuring out how to install the drivers from the CD that comes with them. I click on them, and I'm told--not associated with any program. I just bought a mac after 20 years in the PC world...am I missing something simple?

Thanks!

Correct, you cannot use the USB cable. Typically, the USB cable is usually only used for transferring of still photos. It is not supported by many (or any) camera soft video transfer to the Mac.

The appropriate Firewire cable should be in stock at any Apple dealer or at monoprice.com

There probably isn't any driver necessary - I don't have this camera, but if it is typical of most DV - Firewire camcorders, then iMovie will automatically recognize it.

THANKS, I ordered one. Appreciate the help.

BTW, I used to tell that expert joke all the time in junior high school.
