Panasonic PV-GS320 USB and Macbook

The firewire port on my Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder recently broke. Is there anyway to get the camcorder to work with my Macbook via USB? If not is there any cheap mini dv decks I can buy? Any ideas are welcomed.
 
USB's not an option. The cheapest mini-DV deck would be a new camcorder. It might be worth getting an estimate on the repair - but it probably won't be far off the replacement cost of your GS320.
