Thinking of buying this to go with my new 27 iMac when it arrives. There is good reviews on amazon from it. I understand that it won't play blu-rays unless VLC media player s installed (I always use VLC media player). Anyone used it or owns one? What is your opinion on it. Or is there one better than it?

I've been looking for one for a while now...The LG's have issues with Mac's so I'd steer clear of them....The Sony's get good reviews but seem WAY overpriced. I hadn't come across the Panasonic, but it looks good.
The VLC issue is an Apple derived problem, as they don't directly support Blu-Ray or 3D....Handbrake and VLC are your friends here.
