Panasonic Videocam HDC-SD9

I purchased a Panasonic High Definition Videocam HDC-SD9.
Panasonic say that the camera is compatible with MAC.
But they only supply software for Windows.
When questioned Panasonic, they said it is a MAC issue and should work.
However, I cannot open movie clip files from the AVCHD card on my MAC.
Had consultation with Apple Genius in one of the Apple Stores but
even they could not get it to work.
The videocam is a nice camera but was I misled in the claim that the camera
is compatible with MAC ?
Anyone out there who may have succeeded in transferring movie clips from
the Panasonic HDC-SD9 onto MAC (even imovie 09) ?

Hi Mared,
A little bit more investigation in this forum and you discover a lot of threats
about this item. Type also HDC-SD5 in the search and discover solutions.
I use Toast9 for the conversions to QT compatable files. Succes!

Also, some AVCHD cams will not import the HD clips if you have SD clips on the camcorder. My sony sr11 is that way. I had to delete them in order to get the HD vids in.
