Is it me or do apps run really slow with Pandora running? Also the music stream interrupts when the other apps are loading or pulling information. Can the 3GS seriously have this much trouble simply playing pandora while running things such as email?

I just tested Pandora and writing/checking/receiving an email at the same time and had no problems whatsoever.

The only thing that interrupted for a second was the new mail sound. Then it went back to music automatically.

What apps are you having problems with? I have been using Pandora with the Engadget app, Safari and Mail with no lag. I am on WiFi though, not 3G.

It was happening with every app while running pandora. Screen stuttering, slow graphics, long load times for apps and pandora interupting and suttering. While apps were being used.

Apps I tried that caused problems: Twitterific, Lose it!, Mail, gym buddy.

I rebooted my phone and all seems well now. I'll let you know if it happens again.

all runs fine on my 3Gs.

here's a few screen shots starting with ZERO applications running then simultansiouly running the following:

Pandora
iPod
System Activity Monitor (SAM)
Mail
Calender
PS Mobile
Camera
Photos

Ending with a shot after closing all the apps except SAM

The last screen shot shows CPU Usage after closing everything, which is what really sucks up battery power. Usage is near nothing.

So in conclusion, I'd say multitasking does hardly anything at all to suck up memory and nothing to suck up additional battery life by leaving the apps frozen in time.

Working fine for me. Just using safari, mail, and some other apps. Works like a charm, actually.
