So I've been working on my student project, it's a remote for iOS that can control Pandora on your pc or mac(supports chrome, safari, Firefox, opera). I was wondering that is there any demand for an app like this?
I created it because I personally have my mac connected to my speakers and I am not always at the computer. I wanted to skip a song or like/dislike remotely and didn't really find a solution. I found one other app(not going to advertise it here) that does this, but the problem is that it requires log in and is dependent on a remote server outside of your home network and it also works only on google chrome. My solution only requires that the computer running Pandora and your iOS device are in the same network and that my plugin + app is installed, no outside servers needed. I also believe that my user interface and usability are pretty good and the system is extremely easy to setup.
How my app works basically is this:
1. Install the app from the apple app store
2. Follow the instructions and install my app on your mac/pc, it will take care of installing the browser plugins
3. The iOS app is constantly scanning whether the mac/pc side is ready, then it will initialize itself and is ready for use.
So is it worth considering to release this in the app store, most likely as completely free app or free with an iAd?
