downloaded the software on my rMBP but when i click the dmg i get the icon up asking me do i want to open it then nothing.
is there a issue running it on a mac, running Mavericks on 10.9.4

Delete that dmg file and re-download it. Then when you open it right click on Pangu and choose Open; as it's not signed by Apple's GateKeeper.

Or set "Allow apps downloaded from" to Anywhere in System Preferences > Security

i already have it set to allow all apps

it wouldn't even work on my mac with 10.9.4. it opens, and installs the pang icon but then once it reboots, my mac thinks it needs to be rejailbroken... weird. i just used windows and it worked without any issues.

Huh, well I'll be the counterexample. I updated my MBP (2010 15") to 10.9.4, rebooted a couple times to get TRIM back, then updated my iPhone 5c through iTunes to 7.1.2, then ran Pangu straight from the DMG. Worked the first time.

Changed the date on the iPhone, then it went ahead and jailbroke, rebooted, loaded Cydia, reboot, and it's good. Though I found it will bootloop unless I hold it under a light. It's a known issue with the light sensor and booting. Very odd bug to have.

I haven't seen any side effects of not restoring fresh either, other than notification settings getting reset like they did with evasion.

I'm just glad to have tethering back, missed it from my old HTC Incredible. F.lux, and winterboard. Happy guy now

First time I downloaded it I was on my BlackBook, but it requires 10.8 so it was a no go there, since it can't run ML. I was going to use my XP VM, but decided to just wait on an OS X version.
