I dropped my MacBook from 3-4 foot high, it fell flat on it's top, quite a smooth landing actually... I flipped it open right away (was on already, did not need to boot it up), and everything worked, i used it for a few minutes, went on the internet, etc.
Later that day the battery died, I plugged it and now every time i try to boot it up, the panic kernel screen, telling me to shut down and restart my Mac in 4 languages, pops up. I was able to get the black screen with the error details, and it says "Unable to find driver for this platform".
Ive been reading about this, and tried a few things (typing mac-boot, or fsck-fy, and nothing works. I cant find my OS CD to try to re-install it... is there any hope anyway or does the fact that i dropped the macbook before this problem started mean it's a real hardware problem and i need a new driver?
thanks
Mel
