I have seen some iPhone cases that include the optics to take 360 degree panoramic photos. I am thinking about buying one to hack apart and adapt it the iPad. More as an experiment really than anything else. Ive read the optics for the new iPad are very similar to the new iPhone so I was hoping this might work. Any good insights?

All I can imagine that you would need would bee a lens that would go in front of the camera, probably something in a "bubble" style shape; if the lens fits in the iPad case/over the iPads camera in the same fashion then I would assume it would take wide screen photos. Good luck with your project, make sure to post pics! :)

I promise to post pictures once they are "acceptable". Don't want to embarrass myself to bad now. I played around with some shapes last night and I'm gonna work on it more over the weekend.
