A real pain this.
On Panther 10.3.3, the finder freezes on start up as it tries to connect to a "file server".
I made an alias on the finder's new side panel to a folder held on the server, and if I try to open any finder window it tries without luck to connect to this server.
The only way to avoid the problem is to remove the alias (a pain because I use the folder a lot and I need to link to it with the finder) OR to connect directly to the server using apple-K (which only works if you don't have any finder windows open on start up).
This might have something to do with automount, but that is just a guess and i don't know how to change any automount settings.
Please help me....
