Panther problems

I restarted my powerbook and had to enter my password to get it started. It wouldn't let me log in because it said my account was not available. I called the 800 number and they ended up sending me cds in the mail that would allow me to change my password and to reinstall panther. I tried resetting my password and that didn't work. I reinstalled panther. Now I don't have the latest version of anything and it won't allow me to download anything. I can't view emails and certain web pages because it says I don't have flash player. WHen I go where it tells me to get it, nothing happens. I tried getting the latest version of itunes and safari and its telling me that nothing is compatible with panther. How is it possible that I had them before and now I can't get them. Does any of this make sense?? Can anyone help?
