Is an "Erase and install" really that complicated...
I dont have enough free space on my HD to do an "archive and install"
I want to keep all my old Apps but dont have any of the installation CD's as all the apps were all on the computer when its was given to me.
Thanks for any brilliant idea's

The erase & install itself will be quite straightforward. The biggest obstacle will be recovering your files and applications. The applications bundled with the system (iLife, etc) are gonna be on install disc 2, but you should consider getting iLife '08 for its added functionality, and seeing whether your old apps are even going to be compatible with OS X 10.4. The files can probably be shuffled over to an external hard drive and then manually copied back over after the erase & install.
