I bought a BTO 15" Powerbook on September 17th. Serial number rejected.
I encourage everyone to call Apple Customer Relations and file a complaint. I think it's working because I metioned Jaguar and my new laptop and the lady already new the complaint. She said they'd been getting a lot of them. The more they get the better though. So everyone who didn't qualify for the upgrade with a new computer call 1-800-767-2775. I didn't even have to wait on hold more than a minute or two and overall the phone call wasn't more than a minute—well worth the five minutes.

Panther Upgrade

I didn't get a free upgrade yet. I just filed a complaint and they gave me a case number. I guess if enough people complain then we'll find out if it worked.
