I was running windows xp pro 32 bit with parallels 5.0 on my 2010 macbook pro, I was using some windows only music software. I then opened itunes on the mac side/on mac os, to move the albums into itunes, as soon as itunes starts, it opens software update, & offers me an itubes update, software update starts to check for it, I clicked cancel as I was in the middle of using itunes. I then tried to load an album into itunes from my external hard drive plugged in & being accessed on my windows xp pro virtual machine.

All of a sudden, paralles seems to quit, or disappear, I click on it's icon in the dock,to try & start again, but I get a message that parallels had recovered from a serious error, with an offer to send an error report.

Anybody have any idea what I may have done wrong?

I have been having a little trouble with my mouse & external hard drive sometimes not working together, sometimes my mouse would get disabled when the drive was turned on.

Also have been having weird desktop icon behavior on both my virtual machines (windows 7 pro 64 bit & windows xp pro 32 bit) in parallels 5.0, dont know if these had anything to do with it.

Did I just have too much going on at once?

After parallels was shut down, I went back & started it up & started my windows xp pro virtual machine & everything seemed ok, then I shut down windows & parallels, & all seemed to work ok.
